“Mr. Muth’s Latin III/IV class (and a few interested seniors) spent class making an ancient dish called Moretum, a garlic and cheese spread. After reading a poem from the Appendix Vergiliana describing Moretum, the students used it as a guide to make their own version.”

In 1223, St. Francis of Assisi found himself in the village of Greccio on Christmas Eve. He wanted to make the Nativity story come alive by using live people and animals to depict the scene. And so, the tradition of the creche, or manger, was born. Curley has incorporated this Franciscan Tradition for many years, assigning it to the freshman class to carry out. 801 years later, on December 15th, under the watchful eyes of Mrs. Dalina and Mrs. Lindsay, the Class of 2028 kept up the tradition. The Curley Schola and Luminare Choir led the singing. To…

Getting into the Christmas spirit at school is all about creating an atmosphere of joy, togetherness, and fun! Curley certainly did that this week. We got to see some of the most fun, over the top holiday sweaters throughout the week. Today’s Reindeer Games started with a fierce tree decorating relay race that featured the junior class taking the title vs the seniors. Not to be outdone, a few select faculty members (Mrs. Wysocki, Mrs. Kunkoski and Mrs. Vandergrif) took down the juniors in the final. This was followed by our own Mr. Ayd outlasting everyone in our cookie eating…

One of Curley’s traditions is the formal distribution of the school ring. With a black onyx, the founding date of 1961 and the Class’ graduation year, the distinctive ring is easily recognizable. This year’s Ring Ceremony took place on Sunday, December 8th during Mass, with proud parents and family members in attendance. Fr. Donald, school president, was the main celebrant and homilist. He blessed the rings and, with Mr. Joseph, the school principal, presented each member of the Class of 2026 with his ring. The Juniors then recited together the Ring Pledge and sang the Alma Mater. Student Government President Tyler Brown…
